![]() ![]() ![]() notice, still, how most of the characters are still straight, or perceived to be straight. Wow better but not great (also keeping in mind that this is FANDOM at work, not the author) as this does only delve in sexuality. Now look what happens when we take some canonically “”straight”” characters and make them not-straight: that’s big, despite Rick’s crappy execution. he’s actually queer representation in not only the Percy Jackson series, but in all of kids lit. See that little yellow blob? that’s nico after HoH. This represents the sexuality status of every character in the Percy Jackson series (mentioned or otherwise, as the fandom is extremely heteronormative and every character will be thought of as straight even if their sexuality isn’t expressly mentioned) in books: TLT, SoM, TTC, TBotL, TLO, TLH, SoN, and MoA. i do not delve into any other issues but they ARE important. i am using only sexuality, in terms of straightness and not….straightness to keep things simple and understandable. Below i have mapped out the reason why using blobs of color for maximum comprehensibility.
